Prevent Chapped Lips This Winter

Dry, chapped lips are never sexy or cute, and frankly they hurt. I absolutely love lip balms, but these two are my favorites, and they’re both like $2 at every drugstore I have ever been in.

Carmex-Original

Carmex is so old-school, and they’ve been around for as long as I can remember. Who hasn’t tried Carmex? Carmex is great for chapped lips, and it contains natural germ killers, so if you have a cold sore it will help heal it. Carmex is made with camphor, menthol, and phenol.

Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil

Burt’s Bees makes some fantastic products for your skin, and this is no exception. Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with pomegranate oil is awesome, and it has a pink tint, so it gives your lips just a hint of color. It replenishes moisture, and is naturally antioxidant rich.

Coming Up: Spotlight on Products For Curly Hair

Curly ladies!!! I’m going to be doing an ongoing Spotlight on Products For Curly Hair!! I’m going to feature a number of brands and products. I know how difficult it can be to deal with curly hair, and sometimes we could all use some pointers and recommendations. I absolutely love trying new products, and I love it even more when they work for my rather unruly, curly hair. For reference for you gorgeous gals, my hair is between a 2b-3a, I think. I looked it up on NaturallyCurly.com.

So over the next few weeks, I’m going to feature all sorts of brands and products. I’m going to try and give you ladies an idea of what products I think would work best for different curl types. I would love it if you ladies could give me some feedback if you’ve tried a product also; did you like it? What’s your hair type?

I’m going to be talking about all sorts of products; shampoo, conditioner, gel, styling cream, pomade, etc. This should be an all encompassing endeavor, I want you lovely ladies to really be able to figure out if something would work for you, and if it’s worth your hard-earned cash.

Thanks so much for stopping by and stay tuned!!

Review: Dove Cream Oil Intensive Body Lotion

Hello girls! With cold air and low humidity swiftly coming, women think more and more about dry skin and avoiding it. I am a huge Dove fan, I love their products, and I think they work. So I bought Dove’s Cream Oil Intensive Body Lotion to test out.

For starters I should say that I have dry skin, regardless of the time of year. My skin is finicky, and wants moisture all the time.

So I bought the Cream Oil body lotion, and the first thing I noticed was the smell; it smells very clean and soft, not in a girly way, just nice and clean. I was somewhat skeptical because it isn’t a very thick lotion, and it’s supposed to be for us dry-skinned ladies. However, I’ve been using Dove’s Cream Oil Intensive Body Lotion for a few weeks now, and my skin loves it! I haven’t had any flakiness since using this body lotion, and my skin feels soft and moisturized.

According to Amazon; Can you imagine the pairing of two of the most powerful moisturizers - skin nourishing oil and rich hydrating cream? The result is the ultimate moisture from Dove for extra dry skin - Dove Cream Oil Intensive Body Lotion. It's a deeply penetrating and fast absorbing all over the body lotion that leaves your skin extra soft, extra smooth and extra beautiful, instead of extra dry.

I have to say ladies, I agree with that statement. My skin looks and feels good. On average I think a bottle of Dove Cream Oil Intensive Body Lotion is $8 or $9.

Fall Trends and The Colors Delight

The gorgeous colors that are trendy this fall are not only rich, but they're vibrant and exciting. Fall doesn't need to be a time to tone down, rev-up your gorgeous face and show it to the world. Fall is my favorite time of the year, the heat of summer is over, and the freeze of winter hasn't come. Fall is full of the perfect hues, that both compliment and excite.

So what's super hot this fall you ask? Jewel tones; rich purple, turquoise, navy, emerald, ruby, etc. Gold is also really hot this year, which allows some of the bronze looks of summer to live on and evolve. That's one of my favorite things about makeup, it's like energy, it never ends or stops, it simply evolves.

Winged liner is back, not that it ever really went anywhere to begin with. However, play it up and instead of using basic black, use color; make your eyes and personality pop!

Glowing, gorgeous skin is also in, as always. So treat yourself and your face to some TLC, and show off your gorgeous skin. Throw a beautiful blush on the apples of your cheeks, and embrace the chill in the air.

Why I love my mineral foundation

Lovely ladies, hope you’re having a great weekend. You may have noticed that I only ever talk about mineral foundation, never liquid. Well, I have a few reasons that I prefer mineral foundation over liquid, and I thought I’d share with you. Hopefully, if you’re on the fence about mineral foundation, this will help make up your mind.

Coverage

I get much better, and more even coverage with mineral foundation. With liquid foundation, it never looks natural on my skin. I can always see the makeup on my skin, and it never looks flawless. With mineral foundation, I can never see the makeup on my skin, it blends beautifully, and there’s never a noticeable difference between my face a neck. I want my makeup to look natural, and for mineral foundation gives me the results I want.

Finish

I looked and looked, and up to now, have been unable to find a liquid foundation that leaves my skin glowing and dewy. Even if the foundation gives the finish I want, powder always takes it away. With mineral foundation I get the finish I want and powder doesn’t interfere with it. And if I want, I don’t have to use powder on top of my mineral foundation to set it. Mineral foundation leaves my skin glowing, and dewy, and never powdery.

Ease of Use

Mineral foundation doesn’t need to be blended, and it is so easy to use. Liquid foundation requires blending or it won’t even come close to looking natural or good for that matter. With my mineral foundation just swirl, tap, buff, done! It saves me time.

Frankly, I love mineral foundation so much I’ll never go back to liquid. It gives me what I want, and leaves little to be desired.

So what about you lovely ladies, what kind of foundation do you prefer and why?

Review: Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette

So, I promised months ago that I'd review the Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette...Many apologies ladies, I've been busy, busy, busy, and I forgot.

The Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette is $24.95, and in my opinion, money well-spent. I haven't used every single shadow yet, but the ones that I have are great. The eyeshadows in this palette are so neutral and silky, everyone can use them, everyday.

There are so many options with this many shadows and finishes. I use the 88 Warm Palette literally almost everyday.

There are a variety of really light colors, which frankly can be hard to find. New eyeshadows come out all the time, but how often do you find highlight colors that you love. Most major makeup companies don't put out a lot of light whites and creams, they have a few and then they're done.

The Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette also has some colors you may not expect, there are some gorgeous purples and oranges. You generally don't expect to see orange and purple in a neutral palette, but the colors are so user-friendly and truly neutral, don't be scared to test them out.

Seriously, I highly recommend the 88 Warm Palette, if you've been on the fence, jump over and grab this!

Curly Hair, Straight Hair, Wavy Hair, What's Your Hair?

Hello ladies! I'm still sick, but I'm back! So you all know by now, that I'm a naturally curly gal, and I prefer to use oils and products with oil in them to tame my curls. For me oils work with my hair, they leave it soft, shiny, and virtually frizz free.  But what about you dolls, what works for your hair, regardless of whether it's curly, straight, wavy, or anything else? What are some of your favorite hair products and hair brands? What products do you think stink?

Shortly, I'll be featuring some great reviews from some new brands, and I'm super excited to share them with you! I'm keeping my mouth closed, for now, but rest assured I've got some great stuff coming up soon!

So to leave you, here are my current fav's for my hair:

Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream (This is a staple)
Argan Oil
L'Oreal Everpure Shampoo
Suave for Co-Washing (I'm in love with coconut and green apple this week)
Pantene Restoratives Time Renewal Conditioner

Monday=Bumday

I'm sick, my throat is raw, my head is pounding, and my hair looks like something from the 80's. You ever have one of those days where you just know that the whole day is gonna be sh*! ? That's my day today. I woke up to an entirely rancid smell, to find that my giant dog had it coming out both ends, all over my room. Gross!

It's dinner time, and I never did get cleaned up, I cleaned up after my dog. I feel like I should've done something today, but procrastination and a sore throat got the best of me. So today my friends, Monday= Bumday...

Review: Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Cream 10% Glycolic AHA

So on a recent online shopping expenditure at Ulta, I ventured across Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Cream 10% Glycolic AHA. I have slight break-outs, blackheads, and uneven skin tone. Well, AHA's can help with all of these problems, so I decided to pick this up.

Alpha Hydrox is supposed to help with a number of skin issues including, laugh lines, wrinkles, fine lines, crow's feet and more. It isn't marketed as an acne treatment, but is really helps with my skin issues. It didn't magically cure my skin issues, however, my pores are noticeably smaller, and my skin is smoother.

Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Cream can be a bit harsh if you have sensitive skin, so start slow. It works by dramatically exfoliating your skin, which in turn allows healthier skin to the surface.

The best part about Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Cream is that it's less than $15! I love a good beauty bargain, and this is definetly one of them. If you'd like to pick some up head over to Ulta.

Brand Spotlight: Nicole Paxson Cosmetics

Hello ladies!! Today I have something a little more serious than usual to discuss and share. My Mom was diagnosed with Lupus when I was little, and growing up I watched her struggle with the disease, and try to cover up the butterfly rash associated with Lupus. Lupus affects so many women, and it can be quite a struggle to deal with all the symptoms associated with the disease.

Recently, while browsing the internet I came across a makeup company called Nicole Paxson, and discovered a makeup for women with Lupus and other chronic skin conditions. The great people at Nicole Paxson agreed to send me some product to test out and share with all you lovely gals. So I got the package a few days ago, and I'm so excited to share.

Nicole Paxson Cosmetics are full-coverage yet aren't heavy feeling or cakey at all. One of the most notable things for me was how easily and beautifully the makeup blended. Often with full-coverage makeup it's really hard to blend, and this just wasn't the case with Nicole Paxson at all. Every product in the line has broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF. The packaging is so adorable, and classy looking. Every product is also named after a butterfly, because of the butterfly rash associated with Lupus.

If you suffer from a chronic skin condition like Lupus, or maybe you just prefer full-coverage makeup, than check out Nicole Paxson.

If you'd like more information about Lupus than visit the Lupus Foundation of America.

Review: FHI Platform Ceramic Pink Flat Iron 1"

Okay, so generally I am obsessed with my Original CHI 1" Flat iron, and I have some reservations about trying new flat irons. I've found what works for me, and I see no need to change. However, a good friend of mine gave me this FHI Platform Ceramic 1" flat iron for my birthday, and I figured that I should atleast try it.

So, I tried the FHI Platform Ceramic flat iron and, WOW! It straightened my hair, but managed to leave my body and volume intact. My CHI tends to make my hair flat and I end up using hairspray to trick my hair into having volume and body.

I've had my CHI for over 3 years, so it doesn't work exactly how it used to, but it still works great. One of the biggest differences that I've noticed is that the plates on my CHI aren't quite as smooth as they used to be, so sometimes my hair gets caught. This wasn't a problem at all with the FHI. I'm so accustomed to using my CHI and I love it so much, I sort of look at other flat irons as inferior.  The FHI Platform Ceramic flat iron is every bit as good as my CHI. The FHI heats up quickly, and leaves my hair super shiny.

For more information on the FHI visit FHIHeat.com or BeautyChoice.com. I know it's $139.95 at BeautyChoice.com, but Sally Beauty has also started carrying FHI products, and you may be able to find it cheaper there.

First Examiner.com Article

http://www.examiner.com/x-23882-Oklahoma-City-Makeup-Examiner

So excited, please check it out!!

The Conair Cord Keeper Dryer: I'm in love...

Run, very quickly, to anywhere you can pick this bad boy up. The Conair™ Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Hair Styler is amazing. Tourmaline technology allows this blowdryer to dry your hair super fast, and combats frizz like nobodies business.

My hair used to be frizzy, unruly, and a real pain. So when I decided that I needed a new blowdryer, I did some window shopping, online of course, until I came across this baby at Ulta.com. The Conair Cord-Keeper dryer is ridiculously cheap, and packs quite a punch. Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic technnology allows the dryer to smooth the hair cuticle, and create shine.

The amount of time it takes me to blow dry my hair has literally been cut in half. My favorite thing about the Conair Cord-Keeper is that I haven't needed to use a flat iron or curling iron to smooth my hair or style it since using this dryer. The blow dryer has actually given me the ability to cut down the styling damage that I'm inflicting on my hair.

The Conair Cord-Keeper dryer obviously, as the name implies, has a retractable cord. It comes with a diffuser, for blowdrying curly hair, and a nozzle to control where the hot air is directed. The Conair Cord-Keeper dryer also has a removable filter for easy cleaning. It has three heat settings; hot, warm, and cool, and three speed settings; high, medium, and low.

The Conair Cord-Keeper Blow Dryer can be picked up at Conair or Ulta, and it's about $40.

Lastest Product Obsessions

Hello gals!! So I thought I'd give a quick peek at what product's I'm obsessed with right now. I change product's frequently, and lose interest fast. I can't seem to make myself stick with something, there's always more to see. So here's my list,

  • Agadir Argan Oil: I cannot say enough about this stuff, it is as close to perfection as any hair product that I have ever tried. I know a lot of women love Biosilk Silk Therapy, but once you try this stuff you'll never look back. Argan Oil leaves my hair shiny, like crazy shiny. Argan Oil smells delicious, if they made a perfume that smelled like this I'd rub it on my wrists daily. And my favorite thing, a tiny little bit goes a super long way. The only drawback to Argan Oil is the cost, this stuff is pricey, even too pricey for me. A beautiful friend of mine, you know who you are, gave me a bunch of sample packs, so I emptied them into a bottle. When I run out of my beloved Argan Oil, I think I may cry.
  • Coastal Scents Silica Powder: This is the best finishing powder that I have ever had the pleasure of finishing off my makeup with. Silica powder is insane, it literally makes my skin look poreless. Coastal Scents Silica Powder is like $4 for a container that will last forever. I'm not knocking the MUFE powder, if you can afford $30 for finishing powder than that's awesome, but I can't and frankly, I'm not sure I'd fork over $30 for powder either way.
  • Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter: This is my favorite body butter, and if you've tried this line you should know why. Soap & Glory products are salon quality at Target prices. The Righteous Butter smells heavenly, and is super creamy and rich. When I'm having a bad day, or I need that something extra I use The Righteous Butter instead of body lotion. It makes me feel like I'm pampering myself, and every woman needs to be pampered sometimes.
  • Everyday Minerals Kaolin Powder: For me, this is the perfect finishing powder for underneath my eyes. It sets my concealer perfectly, and is light enough that it makes my eyes look awake. Kaolin powder is normally for oil obsorption, I know. I don't go with convention, I go with what works.

Okay, that's all for now. I'm sure I'll post more product's soon. I have so many it's hard to choose. What are some of your favorite product's right now?

Coconut Oil and Olive Oil: Put Them In Your Hair!

Many products that we put in our hair contain oil, the problem is these oils typically aren’t doing anything but sitting on the surface of our hair, making it look greasy and dirty. Coconut oil and olive oil are two oils that are able to actually penetrate our hair shaft, giving maximum benefits and results. Oils can be extremely beneficial to our hair, but all oils are not created equal.

Mineral oil is the oil typically used in hair care products, which only weighs hair down. Mineral oil may give hair a temporary look of health, but it can’t actually penetrate the hair shaft. What this means is that mineral oil only sits on the surface of the hair, while this may make your hair look good for a day, it isn’t helping your hair in the long-run.

Coconut oil has components that can make hair stronger, nourishing it from the inside out, and actually protect it from some of the styling damage being inflicted on it.

According to organicfacts.net, coconut oil has a high moisture retaining capacity, and three components that are good for your hair; lauric acid, capric acid, and vitamin-E. Lauric acid and capric acid are both antimicrobial agents, meaning that they are natural germ killers, and can help treat dandruff. Vitamin-E is excellent for retaining moisture, and helps keep your scalp healthy.

According to The American Society for Nutrition, “Pure coconut oil is easily absorbed, prevents free radical damage, and can improve the appearance of skin and hair.”

According to The Beauty Brains, “Coconut oil and olive oil actually penetrates the hair to help make it stronger.”

Olive oil is also rich in vitamin-E and other antioxidants, which can actually repair damage to your hair. According to Annie B. Bond on care2.com, “Olive oil nourishes, conditions, and improves the strength and elasticity of your hair.”

So what are some of the ways you can use these two oils to help your damaged, dry, or unruly hair? Use them as a deep conditioner, much like you would with an in-shower hot oil treatment. Saturate your hair with either coconut oil or olive oil 30 minutes before you shower, and wash them out in the shower. Or for even better results leave the oil in your hair over-night, and wash it out in the morning. Another option is using a small, quarter-sized, amount in your hair as a styling product everyday. Replace your usual heat-protectant product with coconut oil or olive oil. There are a number of ways to use either oil, it’s all about what works best for your hair.

And Some More...

Best Drug Store Nail Polishes

So I just noticed that I haven't posted any reviews on nail polish. Well it's time to mend my ways. There are  two super-affordable, long-lasting, awesome drug store nail polishes that I absolutely love. Both nail polishes can be picked up at your local Walgreens or online.

Sinful Colors brand nail polish is super cheap and I think they're as good as China Glaze. At my local Walgreens I can pick up a bottle of Sinful Colors nail polish for $1.99, on Sinful Colors website they're $2.50. Sinful Colors nail polish has quite a color selection, and new colors come out every season. These polishes are great; they're long-wearing, and have a gorgeous finish. Sinful Colors nail polish, as far as I know, are only available at Walgreen's, or online here.

Oh, Sally Hansen, let me count the ways... Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear nail polish does exactly what it says, it lasts and lasts. Normally I'm not a huge fan of Sally Hansen nail polish, but these are a great deal, and work great. There are quite a number of color options, ranging from deep, dark fall and winter colors, to super-bright spring and summer options. If you haven't tried these nail polishes then do so immediately.

Best Maybelline Mascara's

I always make my eyes the focal-point of my makeup, because I think they're my best feature, and it doesn't hurt that I love eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner. I have naturally long eyelashes, but they're so light that without a good mascara you can't see them. These two mascaras are my absolute favorite Maybelline mascara's ever!

Maybelline Lash Discovery Mascara is great, it doesn't really thicken or add volume to your lashes, but it's great at getting every-single-lash. I love this mascara, and I've been using it for several years. Maybelline Lash Discovery has a teeny, tiny little brush that manages to coat every lash with mascara, and not leave any clumps.
Maybelline Define-A Lash Mascara is awesome! The brush in this mascara is great, and the results are even better. This mascara is my go to for everyday use. Define-A-Lash never leaves my lashes clumpy, it gives my lashes definition, and it lenghtens. Maybelline Define-A-Lash mascara has even won awards; Allure Best Of Beauty, and an Editors Choice Award for 2007.

Review: Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 claims that it will even out skin tone, and reflect light to bring out your skin’s natural radiance.

I am always looking for a good day-time moisturizer that won’t cause break-outs, and will make my skin glow.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer is a nice, light-weight moisturizer with a pleasant smell. I haven’t really noticed it improving my skin’s tone or texture, but I’m not sure how long that takes, and I’ve only been using it for about a month. This moisturizer is somewhat expensive for a drug-store moisturizer, around $15 for a 4 ounce bottle, but it lasts and lasts, and so far I haven’t had any bad reactions to it.

Aveeno Positively Radiant leaves my skin feeling hydrated, and offers the added benefit of sun protection. One of the things I like most about good product’s at the drug store is that they’re readily available, you can probably find them within 5 minutes of your house.

If you’re looking for a moisturizer that won’t break the bank, then pick up Aveeno Positively Radiant.

I'm A Freak...

So, I have a confession, I watch television show’s that I don’t even like and look at the women’s hair and makeup. Does anyone else do this or am I a freak? It’s not just show’s that I don’t like, I do it with show’s that I actually enjoy, and then I end up side-tracked by the makeup and hair.

Sex & The City is one of my favorite shows of all time; I love the friendship, the fashion, and of course the makeup and hair. After watching the show, and sometime’s during watching it, I’ll wonder how I can recreate the look. Episode after episode I will look at the women on the show, and judge how they look on that episode versus how they looked in previous episodes.

What brand of makeup are they wearing? How did they apply the foundation? The blush? How did they style the hair? What product’s did they use? Can I do it at home? I think you get the point.

Anyway, so am I the only woman who sits in her pajama’s and studies the women on t.v., and wonder’s if their look can be imitated?

Here’s a list of my favorite show’s to do this with in no particular order:

Sex & The City

Friends

Weeds

Californication

True Blood

The New Adventure’s of Old Christine

Dexter

One of my favorite things are show’s that are in HD, how do they get their skin to look so smooth? The makeup is seamless. Okay, I know it’s with an airbrush, but damn, I want that perfect skin too.

Okay now it’s your turn. Do you do this too? If so what show’s do you do it with?

Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Warmth: The Many Uses

Bare Escentuals bareMinerals All-Over-Face Color in Warmth is probably one of the most versatile product’s that I’ve ever used. If you’re familiar with Bare Escentuals bareMinerals at all, then you probably already know that they market Warmth as a way to add a “candlelight glow” to your complexion, and a year-round complexion booster.

Most women who use Bare Escentuals Warmth probably are using it as a bronzer, like I often do too, but have you tried any other ways to use it?

One of my absolute favorite things to do with Warmth is mix it with blush and see what color it makes. I’ve made some beautiful blush colors this way. For this option your best bet is going to be mixing Warmth with loose blush, not pressed, as it will mix better with loose, and give you more even color results.

I’ve discovered that for my baby blue’s Warmth is the perfect crease color. Not only does Warmth give me that gorgeous summer bronzed eye look, but it actually makes my eye color pop! Just like using Warmth on your face, less-is-more, and it blends beautifully.

Do you need an awesome contour color for your cheeks? Try Warmth for that too. The best way to use Bare Escentuals Warmth as a contour color though is to use a small brush, not your typical blush brush. Again, don’t forget that with Warmth less-is-more, you can always add as much as you want, but taking away something is much harder to do.

Last but not least, of course, Bare Escentuals Warmth can be used as a lip color. Try mixing a little bit of Warmth with your favorite lip balm or gloss, and see what happens. Another idea, mix Warmth with lip colors you already have and create a custom color!

Review: Clean and Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer

This is the product information from Clean and Clears' Website:
MORNING GLOW® Moisturizer with SPF 15 is uniquely formulated with oil-free moisturizing ingredients, tiny light reflectors, and an invigorating citrus fragrance. The moisturizing ingredients hydrate dry, tired skin without clogging pores. The tiny light reflectors give your skin a naturally brighter look. The invigorating citrus fragrance awakens the senses and energizes your morning.
Okay, I was trying to be open-minded about Clean and Clear products, so after the not-so-great review I did on Clean and Clear Morning Burst Face Scrub, I thought I'd try another product, below is my honest opinion.
I will say that the Clean and Clear Morning Glow moisturizer doesn't feel oily, or leave a nasty residue on my skin. Morning Glow doesn't have an odd smell, and in general seems like it moisturizes. It didn't break me out, or affect the way my mineral foundation applied. Morning Glow has a few good traits, but nothing that sets it apart from any of the other $5 drug-store moisturizer's with spf in them.
Now, on to the down-side, the enormous down-side. Clean and Clear Morning Glow moisturizer has these teeny-tiny little flecks of glitter in it, that I am assuming are supposed to be what makes you "glow". You can feel them when your trying to rub the moisturizer in, it feels like your exfoliating instead of moisturizing. The tiny flecks of glitter in this moisturizer feel like grains of sand or something, I dunno. This trait alone make Morning Glow unusable, your moisturizer shouldn't have anything in it that you can feel.
Bottom line: I will not be trying any more Clean and Clear products, nor will I ever recommend this moisturizer, EVER.

Tips For Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes

So, typically I tend to wash my makeup brushes weekly, and I got to thinking; does everyone do this? How often do you clean your makeup brushes; daily, weekly, never? I know that makeup brushes are a haven for all sorts of bacteria, germs, and dirt. I think we can all agree that rubbing that into your face on a daily basis can't be good for your skin. I know that I've noticed a difference in my skin the more often I wash my makeup brushes, and how I wash them. So, I thought I'd share some tips on what seems to work for me.

I should mention at this point that I prefer synthetic brushes for my face, as natural hair makeup brushes tend to cause skin irritation for me. My absolute favorite brushes for applying my mineral foundation are Everyday Minerals Long-Handled Kabuki and Flat Top Brush, both of which are only $10 and can be checked out here.

So back to the tips:
  • I always wash my brushes in lukewarm water with hand soap; antibacterial for my synthetic brushes, and moisturizing hand soap for my natural hair brushes. I find that with natural bristle brushes antibacterial soap dries the bristles out too much and causes the bristles to become rather scratchy. However, no matter how many times I wash my synthetic brushes they feel as soft as the day I got them.
  • I start by putting some soap and water in the palm of my hand and rubbing the makeup brush bristles into the mixture until it starts to foam. Typically, I rinse and repeat this step until the water runs clear.
  • Once I'm done with the actual washing I gently squeeze out any excess water, and place synthetic makeup brushes on a flat surface to dry. With my natural hair makeup brushes I use The Brush Guard.
  • The Brush Guard is awesome, it allows me to wash my makeup brushes and dry them, while retaining their original shape. When you wash natural hair makeup brushes they always dry, and the bristles never look the same. With The Brush Guard this is no longer a problem. The Brush Guard can be picked up here. Bear in mind when using The Brush Guard that drying takes longer, about twice the amount of time it would take normally.
Well ladies, I hope this helps! Until next time..........

Review: Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub

So, a few days ago I was at Wal-Mart browsing the skin care aisle, trying to pick a new face wash/scrub, and I saw Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub. So I figured I'd give a try.

Well, Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub claims it will wake you up, exfoliate, and leave your skin glowing and refreshed. I don't know if those claims ring true, but for a drug-store product it isn't bad.

It doesn't smell quite like I expected, it doesn't smell bad, just different than what I imagined. It has a nice thick consistency, so it won't just slide off your skin in the shower. Clean & Clear Morning Burst Face Scrub is definently a scrub and not a face wash, as it doesn't really lather like a wash would.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Face Scrub also contains Vitamin C and Ginseng. I know Vitamin C is great, if you want your skin to look radiant. However, I have no idea what benefit ginseng offers your skin.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Face Scrub is sub-par as far as exfoliation goes; the beads in it are simply too big to offer any real exfoliation.

Overall for the $3 or $4, that I paid for Clean & Clear Morning Burst Face Scrub, I'm not terribly disappointed. With that being said, I don't see me repurchasing. So the hunt continues for an awesome face scrub/wash.......
