When companies give back: Kinky-Curly and Charity:Water

It's time to mix business with pleasure, well, sort of. I want to take a minute or two of your time and tell you ladies another fabulous thing about Kinky-Curly, which only adds to the long, long list of reasons to check out this company and their fantastic line of products. A portion of the proceeds from every Kinky-Curly purchase are donated to Charity:Water. Kinky-Curly has a goal of raising $5,000, so they can have a well built as a result of their donations.

Let's just take a moment to think about how much water we use every single day, between bathing, washing our hands, doing the dishes, cooking, and drinking. As Americans we can't imagine not having immediate access to clean, safe water. We take it for granted, frankly I never even think about water. It's there, I use it, the end. According to Charity:Water there are more than 1 billion people, right now, that don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. That's not only a ridiculous amount of human beings, but an entirely unacceptable amount. Not one person should have to go without water of all things.

Charity:Water is a non-profit organization that uses 100% of the donations it recieves to help give people all over the world access to clean, safe water. I could sit here and list the figures for you, and I could tell you literally hundreds of reasons why having clean, safe water is imperative to basic survival, but I think what's more important is telling you that you can help, right now, with the amount of money you spend having one lunch. You can literally give a person clean, safe water for the next 20 years with the amount of money you spend buying yourself lunch, just once. That's incredible.

Seriously, if you're reading this then obviously you care about it. If you've thought about purchasing Kinky-Curly products, then maybe this will give the motivation to go ahead and check them out. If you already purchase Kinky-Curly products, this just adds to the long list of reasons why you love them. If you don't have curly hair, and therefore have probably never even heard of Kinky-Curly, you can go directly to the Charity:Water site and donate directly. If for any reason you can't afford to donate, but still want to help you can share this post, with as many people as possible. Word of mouth is still the best way to spread information.
